1 - Lay out your course as to use the minimum amount of seams possible
2 - Avoid cross or head seams (seams that run the width of the carpet).
3 - On holes requiring more than one piece of carpet, be sure all pieces are running in the same direction.
4 - Allow an additional 6 inches of carpet for each piece.
5 - Consider roughs and sand trap for fills in areas less then 3 ft.wide.

How to measure your miniature golf course to insure a proper grass carpet installation
Add fill piece from waste or rough in this area
Use the waste from your main shots to fill areas whenever possible, this will cut back on total yardage required for your course
Shot A 12'x38' = 50.66 yards
Shot B 12'x13' = 17.33 yards
Total 12'x51' = 68 yards
Main shot C 12'x42' = 56 yards
